Build better teams. Do better work.

Our team at OCEAN is so excited to celebrate Cloverleaf, one of our Class 3 startups that graduated from the Ocean accelerator program back in 2017. After receiving seed funding, training, and mentoring through our program, Cloverleaf has gone on to scale up well-rounded, and diverse coaching products for their users.

Cloverleaf’s automated development technology leverages respected psychology data from behavioral assessments in order to retain and grow individual employees and teams. Since their debut in 2018, Cloverleaf has helped scale coaching and maximize employee talent for over 20,000 teams including major organizations like HP Enterprise, Monster Energy, Kroger and many more.

Cloverleaf has continued to build tremendous momentum within the last year and has recently closed $9M in a Series A funding round led by Origin Ventures. This accomplishment will help Cloverleaf add to their offerings and insights as they continue to curate invaluable cultures amongst employees. Participants of this round include ScOp Ventures, Mucker Capital, Queen City Angels, Airwing Ventures, 1809 and the JobsOhio Growth Capital Fund.

Investors like these have been a major part of the success we’ve seen in our startups and we are ecstatic about the opportunities they have brought to Cloverleaf in their most recent round of funding.

In the words of OCEAN’s President and CEO, Luke Dooley, “Workplace culture, communication, and teamwork are paramount to building enduring, successful businesses. I’m so proud of the Cloverleaf team for creating a world-class product that transforms the way teams work together. The $9M funding round they recently closed is clear evidence of the value of their product and vision in the marketplace.”

As one of the organizations that uses Cloverleaf’s tools daily, we are inspired by  cofounders Kirsten Moorefield and Darrin Murriner‘s leaps and bounds over the years to make their mission a reality. Cloverleaf values optimistic persistence, being a genuine teammate, bringing delight to work, own it, and curiosity for growth–values that are apparent through Cloverleaf’s beloved daily coaching tips.

Kirsten has often expressed her gratitude for OCEAN in helping Cloverleaf “get off the ground.” Here at OCEAN we are so grateful for entrepreneurs like Kirsten and Darrin and are humbled by the part we get to play in their journey to building better company cultures.

Like Cloverleaf, OCEAN is deeply passionate about the teams of people we get to work with and helping others be energized by the work they do. It’s important to celebrate and maximize the strengths of these individuals not only in the entrepreneurial ecosystem we are working in, but beyond. Cloverleaf is scaling this goal and we are so proud that others get to be involved in the mission we helped kickstart in 2017.
