Helping Early-Stage Founders Build Venture-Backable Companies

OCEAN Programs is pleased to announce applications are open for its ninth high-tech accelerator cohort. This is an opportunity for early-stage founders working on cutting-edge technologies in any tech-enabled sector.

OCEAN Accelerator is a 17-week program designed to help founders build venture-backable companies. The program provides seed funding, mentorship, education, and professional services to support the growth of participating startups. Along with traditional accelerator elements, the OCEAN Accelerator invites founders to integrate faith, purpose, relationships, and health into their journey.

“Building a successful company requires more than just a great idea and hard work,” said Christy Johnson, COO at OCEAN. “That’s why we focus on the whole person along with the business. Integrating faith, purpose, relationships, and health helps entrepreneurs have the resilience skills they need to stay in the game for the ups and downs of the start-up journey.”

OCEAN Accelerator Cohort 9 will feature up to 10 companies, all receiving $50,000 investment. Starting before day one, founders will be immersed into a co-created program. It focuses on investor-readiness, problem-solution fit, financial modeling, company culture, and holistic founder health. For three weeks, founders will be on-site, across the United States, to participate in a welcome week, mid-session retreat in Colorado, and pitch week in early September.

Partners like Ulmer, Cintrifuse, VurveyForecastr, BombBomb, and SoulCare, offer their expertise, services, and products to cohort members. Dozens of mentors and speakers will also be offering support.

Since its start, OCEAN Accelerator has launched 62 high-tech businesses out of its 8 cohorts. Alumni have then gone on to be accepted into programs like Y Combinator and Techstars and to raise more than $50,000,000. Of those 62 startups, three exited: SAWA, acquired by Mailchimp in 2019, StreamSpot, acquired by Subsplash in 2020, and Martin, acquired by PubMatic in 2022. Three alumni — Cloverleaf, Bosa, and GetTogether —  have been recently named “Startups to Watch” in Cincinnati.
